About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Equipment Specialist to join our team at NHS Scotland. As a key member of our Medical Equipment Management service, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective operation of medical equipment across our healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full life-cycle of medical equipment devices, including commissioning, calibration, performance assurance, and repair.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical teams to identify and resolve equipment-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in a wide range of medical devices, including specialist and highly-complex equipment.
  • Provide training and support to colleagues on equipment-related matters.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to medical equipment management.
Requirements
  • Engineering or Technology knowledge to SCQF Level 9.
  • Post graduate experience of medical equipment, for example attending manufacturers technical courses.
  • Experience of the service, repair, and fault finding of a wide range of medical equipment.
  • Understanding of the clinical, scientific, and engineering principles of a broad range of medical devices.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
