About the Role

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Engineer Specialist Practitioner Clinical Technologist Medical Physics to join our team in the Department of Clinical Physics and Bio-Engineering. As a key member of our Medical Equipment Management service, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medical equipment across our hospitals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full life-cycle of medical equipment devices, including commissioning, calibration, performance assurance, and repair.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of clinical engineer technologists to deliver high-quality services to patients and staff.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in a wide range of medical devices, including specialist and highly-complex equipment.
  • Provide training and support to colleagues to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to medical equipment management.
Requirements
  • Engineering or Technology knowledge to SCQF Level 9.
  • Postgraduate experience of medical equipment, including attendance at manufacturers' technical courses.
  • Experience of the service, repair, and fault-finding of a wide range of medical equipment.
  • Understanding of the clinical, scientific, and engineering principles of a broad range of medical devices.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
