Victim Support Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Triage Caseworker to join our team at Catch22. As a Triage Caseworker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to victims and witnesses of crime, helping them navigate the complex criminal justice system and access the resources they need to heal and recover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide initial support and guidance to victims and witnesses of crime, assessing their needs and developing a plan to address them.
- Build and maintain relationships with victims and witnesses, providing ongoing support and guidance as needed.
- Work collaboratively with a range of agencies to ensure a robust referral pathway is in place, connecting victims and witnesses with the services and resources they need.
- Provide information and explain the process and principles of restorative justice to victims and offenders, promoting healing and reparation.
- Have a broad and competent understanding of criminal justice processes, advising and guiding victims and witnesses on matters such as victim witness statements, court proceedings, and wider criminal justice system procedures.
Requirements:
- A confident, professional, and creative individual with a 'can-do' approach.
- Responsive to pressure and change – flexible and adaptable to sustain performance.
- Ability to build and manage relationships, share knowledge and skills to deliver shared goals.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders and retain confidentiality at all times.
