Senior Medical Writer – Medical Communications

Position: Senior Medical Writer (medical affairs)

Contract Type: Permanent

The ideal candidate will engage in diverse projects encompassing the full range of medical communications activities, such as congress initiatives, educational materials, digital platforms, and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a thorough scientific comprehension and awareness of the primary therapeutic areas you support, including market landscape, product knowledge, competitive analysis, and effective messaging strategies.
  • Act as the medical writing lead on designated project teams, offering proactive guidance to project leaders for the efficient planning of medical writing deliverables.
  • Effectively translate complex scientific concepts with clarity, integrity, and impact.
  • Contribute to the formulation of product strategies, scientific messaging, and key statements.
  • Oversee the content produced by yourself and fellow writers within the team.
  • Ensure that communication and educational materials are relevant, actionable, and positively influence patient outcomes.
  • Lead assigned projects or groups of projects to guarantee timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Ensure that document content and style conform to relevant regulatory standards and adhere to company or client-specific guidelines.
  • Mentor colleagues in developing content for a variety of medical communications projects.
  • Recognize the significance of motivation and guidance, empowering team members to take ownership of their work.
  • Support the client services team by proactively addressing any modifications in project specifications or deadlines that may affect project budgets and financial forecasts.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a scientific discipline (preferably life sciences); PhD or MSc is advantageous.
  • Strong scientific knowledge and comprehension.
  • Expertise in producing high-quality written materials.
  • Effective presentation abilities.
  • High level of drive, motivation, and initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with industry guidelines and best practices.
  • Experience in Medical Communications (agency or pharmaceutical).
