About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and driven Director of Marketing for Assessment to enhance the growth and visibility of the Oxford Test of English. As a results-oriented marketer, you will lead and motivate a talented team while working closely with various stakeholders and senior management to achieve ambitious objectives. Your responsibilities will encompass developing positioning and pricing strategies, managing lifecycle marketing, and overseeing brand management, ensuring that insights and data guide decision-making throughout the marketing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the creation and execution of strategic marketing initiatives aimed at driving significant global growth for the Oxford Test of English.
  • Increase the number of Recognising institutions for the Oxford Test of English by formulating effective marketing strategies, leading a Recognition team, and collaborating with in-market Business Development teams.
  • Enhance the OUP brand as a premier provider of English language assessments, ensuring a strong presence at key conferences and forums to stimulate demand and bolster our reputation.
  • Manage the brand identity and hierarchy of the Oxford Test of English.
  • Develop pricing and positioning strategies for the Oxford Test of English across various segments and markets, in partnership with Product and Sales leaders, and present proposals to senior management.
  • Collaborate with Campaigns & Community, Events, Web, Data & CRM teams, and Regional Marketing and Sales teams to ensure the effective implementation of marketing plans.
  • Lead the development of comprehensive sales enablement resources for global teams, ensuring customer-facing staff are equipped with superior training, tools, and materials to support effective market strategies.
  • Drive lead generation and management efforts in collaboration with the Web, Data, and CRM teams.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of traditional and emerging competition and buyer behaviors to inform customer journey design and competition marketing strategies.
  • Manage Lifecycle Marketing initiatives for global Oxford Test of English Test Centres.
  • Identify new market opportunities and devise strategies to leverage them, working closely with local teams in various markets.
  • Lead and nurture a high-performing marketing team.
  • Analyze product and promotional performance data across multiple channels to refine product promotion strategies.
  • Manage the marketing budget within established parameters.

About You

To excel in this position, you should possess:
  • Extensive experience in product marketing related to Assessment, courseware, and/or digital products and services, with a focus on pricing, positioning, and global promotion.
  • Exceptional leadership, management, influencing, and communication skills to guide and motivate a team and engage stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for interpreting marketing and business data to make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in planning and managing multiple processes, stakeholders, and projects simultaneously.
  • A talent for transforming customer needs into revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Excellent collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders worldwide.
  • A compelling communicator and storyteller, with experience in various communications and marketing roles.
  • Experience leading a high-performance team within a matrix management structure.
  • Innovative thinking, with a willingness to challenge the status quo and explore new approaches to achieve business goals.
  • Relevant professional experience in marketing, product, or sales functions.
  • Desirable marketing qualifications.
  • A willingness to travel internationally several times a year.
