Job Summary

The Maternity and Neonatal Lead role is a critical position that serves as a conduit between service users and staff across the Integrated Care Board (ICB). This role is responsible for linking the thoughts and feelings of service users to staff, enabling change and escalating concerns to relevant organizations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver the agreed objectives of the Maternity and Neonatal Programme as outlined in the annual workplan.
  • Use influence to drive the delivery of highly effective and visible outcomes.
  • Represent the Maternity and Neonatal Programme at local, regional, and national meetings and events.
  • Provide independent challenge and scrutiny based on evidence gathered from parents/carers and professionals.
  • Assist professionals in identifying and engaging with pregnant women/service users, parents, and their families at every level of change to enable authentic co-production.
  • Support the ICB and Trust in ensuring that workstreams of programmes are planned and managed effectively.

Requirements
  • Recent or current service user experience in maternity and/or neonatal services within the last two years or a post-graduate degree in Management Studies or equivalent.
  • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment.
  • Demonstrated experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments, including working with a wide range of people from different backgrounds and organizations to influence, plan, and implement a programme of transformation and quality improvement work.
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritizing workloads, and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes.
  • Understanding of the public sector.
  • Experience and/or understanding of national, regional, and local drivers for transformation and quality improvements across maternity and neonatal services.
