Role Overview

As part of the Economic Crime Prevention (ECP) Platform, our goal is to safeguard our communities by enhancing our ability to prevent, detect, and respond to economic crime. This platform operates within Consumer Relationships and is vital in delivering services across the organization.

The Technical Recovery Manager (TRM) will play a pivotal role in leading the operational aspects of system availability and customer service. This position involves representing the Lead Service Engineer and implementing service standards to ensure the Technical Recovery Bridge team provides exceptional service throughout the organization.

The role requires a shift working pattern, including 12-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, with various time slots. Additionally, an On Call capability will be necessary outside of these hours to maintain a 24/7 operational capability.

The ECP team manages over 100 applications across diverse technologies. A solid understanding of Microservice/Unix and Mainframe operating systems is essential, along with familiarity with the ECP and Payments Industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop team members, fostering a collaborative environment focused on service availability.
  • Coordinate IT engineers during incidents, managing recovery efforts and communicating with senior stakeholders to provide updates and assess impacts.
  • Maintain a composed and focused work environment, ensuring engineers can operate without interruptions.
  • Ensure incident reports are clearly written to support effective problem management and analysis.
  • Proactively explore problem records and service improvement opportunities, including monitoring, alerting capabilities, automation, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in high-pressure environments, with the ability to maintain focus and calm.
  • Analytical mindset to assess incident data and identify patterns for risk mitigation.
  • Proven expertise in ITIL disciplines.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders effectively and influence key decision-makers.
  • Operational excellence in IT support, with a comprehensive understanding of production environments and system architecture.
  • Relevant knowledge of the payments industry, including regulations, schemes, and service level agreements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with modern software development tools, including cloud platforms, containers, and APIs.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk.
