Role Purpose:

We are seeking a Risk Management Analyst to join our Operations Risk and Control team. This position is crucial for overseeing transaction reporting of market trades to regulatory authorities. The analyst will also monitor Crest messaging and address any error messages that arise, while providing support to the Trade Surveillance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee transaction reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and address any reporting discrepancies within established timelines.
  • Monitor Crest communications, both incoming and outgoing, resolving any exceptions promptly.
  • Manage trade dispute resolutions, employing a fact-based approach to systems and controls, and proactively addressing issues.
  • Ensure best execution practices for equities, bonds, fixed income, and other financial instruments across UK and international markets.
  • Review alerts for potential market abuse generated by external systems and document cases for compliance evaluations.
  • Investigate new security issues and secure necessary approvals for their inclusion on the platform.
  • Maintain a commitment to fair treatment of clients at all times.
  • Promptly escalate trade-related issues to management, mitigating risks through effective resolution strategies.
  • Adhere to Operations Risk and Control procedures consistently.
  • Support quality assurance processes for critical business functions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills necessary for competent performance in the role, ensuring training and competency records are current.
  • Comply with internal procedures and guidelines at all times.
  • Exercise due diligence and care, adhering to market conduct standards and engaging with regulators in a cooperative manner.
  • Understand and maintain the Operations Risk and Control Business Continuity Plan.
  • Utilize the training and competence framework to uphold the necessary expertise for the role.
  • Ensure compliance with the organization's risk appetite statement.
  • Take responsibility for meeting regulatory standards as outlined by governing bodies.
  • Support the first line of defense by adhering to business processes designed to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Foster relationships with operational teams in other financial institutions.
  • Oversee international order flows, addressing system issues and customer concerns.
  • Participate in late shift responsibilities on a rotational basis with global trading teams.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of transaction reporting and MIFID II regulations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Crest messaging.
  • Qualifications from the Securities Institute or CISI Level 3 or higher.
  • Proven experience in stockbroking or investment banking, particularly within trading teams.
  • Familiarity with trading and settlement processes for both domestic and international markets.
  • Understanding of the regulatory framework and monitoring requirements.
  • Knowledge of compliance and industry regulations related to trading systems and controls.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on verbal and listening abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and numeracy skills.
