Position Overview

We are seeking a Risk Analyst to become a vital part of our accomplished Risk team. This role is based in our office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Reporting: Conduct written reviews and analyses of energy markets to provide insights for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Market Analysis: Identify significant market movements, their causes, and implications. Assess short-, medium-, and long-term market risks and opportunities, supported by data analysis (trends, correlations, etc.).
  • Support Functions: Provide general assistance to the trading team and supply necessary data and information to support client-facing and sales teams.
  • Trading Assistance: Process trade requests and ensure completion through to supplier confirmation.
  • Risk Management Assistance: Aid in managing Inspired Collectives by overseeing positions, validating costs, generating position reports, and updating the broader business.
  • Client Position Management: Progress towards managing tailored risk-managed client positions.

Qualifications and Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Background in Analytical or Research fields.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A-C, including Mathematics and English.
  • Experience in the Energy Sector.
  • Possession of a valid UK Driving License.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree-level education.
  • Experience with VBA and Python.

Required Skills:

  • Written Communication: Exceptional writing and grammatical skills, capable of presenting logical analyses and conclusions with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Analytical Skills: Self-motivated with a logical approach, able to convey detailed analyses clearly and concisely.
  • Personal Attributes: Enthusiastic, organized, possessing strong verbal communication skills, good numerical abilities, and a strong work ethic. Demonstrates initiative and commitment to personal development.
  • Experience: Degree-level education or equivalent experience. Familiarity with the energy market is advantageous but not mandatory. Proficient in Excel and Word.
