Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Property Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our care units across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of maintenance needs and prepare detailed job sheets.
  • Perform a wide range of repairs and general maintenance tasks, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
  • Provide assistance with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC system maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Handle heavy lifting and furniture moving as required, demonstrating careful handling and attention to detail.
  • Clean and repair various household fixtures, maintaining a clean and functional environment for our residents.
  • Collaborate effectively with contractors and management personnel to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of work hours, tasks completed, and materials used.
  • Respond promptly to call-outs when necessary, providing essential maintenance support during emergencies or urgent situations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar role, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of general maintenance practices.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle are essential for travel between care units.
  • Solid knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC systems, enabling you to diagnose and resolve common issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in carpentry, painting, and decorating techniques, ensuring high-quality workmanship and a professional finish.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, managing your time efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to interact professionally with residents, staff, contractors, and management.
