At Sterling supported living Ltd, we're dedicated to providing exceptional care and guidance to children and young people in a residential setting. We're seeking a passionate and experienced Children's Home Manager to lead our two-bedroom children's home in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

About the Role

As a Children's Home Manager, you'll inspire and lead a small dedicated team to deliver exceptional care, creating a safe and secure environment in line with Ofsted standards. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the home is fully equipped with the right resources and a capable team that is trained, skilled, and qualified to operate safely and compliantly at all times.
  • Engaging and involving the team in the implementation of the home's statement of purpose to ensure everyone's valuable input is considered and respected.
  • Ensuring the children under your care experience optimal physical and mental well-being, while being protected from harm.
  • Leading the performance of the home, continuously evaluating reports to drive improvement, while ensuring strict adherence to all relevant legislations.
  • Providing support and assistance both on-call and during shifts to ensure that all required care services are completely fulfilled.
  • Chairing meetings with children and young people, professionals, and lead staff meetings, completing rotas, and providing support with training and development.
  • Building positive relationships with key professionals such as social workers, team managers, and IROs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management within Children's Residential Care (or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards the qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Children's Home Manager or a Deputy Manager role for 2 years within a children's residential setting.
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Children's and Young People's Workforce.
  • Experience of working under the regulatory body of Ofsted and managing challenging behaviour, including attachment and trauma.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, with a proven track record of working and managing conflicting challenges.
  • The right to work and live in the UK.
  • A full driving licence.
