Business Development Manager

Montgomery Freight Management is seeking a skilled Business Development Manager to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding the company's presence in the freight sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase sales of full loads and groupage movements across various market sectors.
  • Identify new business opportunities and manage them to become trading partners of the company.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to leverage existing customer relationships and expand the company's market presence.
  • Ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities and meet sales targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential clients and decision-makers.
  • Present business trends and opportunities to mid and senior-level management to inform business development decisions.
  • Develop and communicate the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Manage and track sales activity, including data entry and reporting.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a logistical environment with a strong understanding of the industry.
  • Successful sales track record with a focus on converting opportunities.
  • Ability to work towards clearly defined targets and meet deadlines.
  • Market knowledge across various transport markets, including European, UK Domestic, Irish, and Deep Sea.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Time management and planning skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
  • Travel is required, with occasional overnight stays away from home.
