Job Description

Ethex and Energise Africa are two leading direct impact investing platforms for individual investors who want to invest in extraordinary organisations. Our award-winning crowd-funding platforms enable individuals to invest directly in businesses that support causes they believe in – whether it's fighting climate change, reducing poverty or building resilient communities. The two businesses share finance and operations resources and have decided to jointly recruit a senior, experienced marketing professional to bring drive, energy and creativity.

Since 2013, Ethex and Energise Africa have raised over £135 million of investment for over 100 impactful organisations from 20,000 impact investors. We are leading innovators in the field and this role provides the right candidate with an excellent opportunity to be part of a group at the cutting edge of impact investing.

The Marketing Director is responsible for crafting strategies, managing budgets and setting marketing goals for the Companies. They will ensure consistent brand messaging, analyse consumer behaviour, and identify market expansion opportunities. With leadership skills and industry experience, they will boost brand awareness and scale our community of ethical investors. We are looking for someone who can bring passion and flair to the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing Strategy

· Craft and implement strategies for Marketing, including Digital, Advertising, Communications and Creative in order to grow our investor base.

· Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly and annual budgets for Marketing.

· Build the Marketing team as the Companies grow, manage this team and lead on strategic development of Marketing within the Senior Management Teams.

Marketing Activities

· Coordinate sales and marketing efforts to boost brand awareness and grow our investor bases.

· Create, plan and execute marketing campaigns and measure their performance.

· Analyse consumer behaviour and determine customer personas.

· Ensure user experience is optimal at all stages of the sales funnel.

· Ensure our brand messages are strong and consistent across all channels.

· Championing our impact messaging to be best in class.

· Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand market share.

· Monitor competition (acquisitions, pricing changes and new products and features).

Marketing Partnerships

· Managing PR and working with partners to raise our profile.

· Identifying strategic stakeholders and helping to position Ethex and Energise Africa as thought leaders.

· Working with other departments to support investees in their marketing campaigns.

Leadership

· A key member of the Senior Management Teams, helping to build the forward-looking market strategy of Ethex and Energise Africa.

· Provide feedback to the Investment Committee, as required, with an investor lens to ensure and support the proposed pipeline fits into our marketing strategy and has demonstrable impact.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Marketing Director who has:

  • A deep understanding of marketing principles, industry trends and consumer behaviour with a high level of proficiency in marketing analytics, web analytics and Google AdWords

· Experience as Senior/Head of Marketing, preferably within our industry, running successful marketing campaigns

· An understanding of Financial services, ideally in a business-to-consumer-focused environment and a working knowledge of the UK Regulatory Framework for Financial Services including Consumer Duty.

· The ability to work as an effective member of our Senior Management Teams and as the leader of Marketing in our fast-moving environment.

  • An analytical mindset and strategic thinking, with strong leadership skills and effective goal-setting capabilities.

· Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, engaging with multiple parties from inside and outside the company. The aptitude to build relationships, influence and efficiently navigate situations to get things done.

· The ability to organise and prioritise work, meeting deadlines, working under pressure and to strict timelines, managing multiple priorities

· An energetic, positive and constructive approach – you want to solve problems and build good workable solutions with your team every day.

· Experience in high growth digital organisations with a solid understanding of digital marketing tools and technologies.

Salary

£50,000 - £60,000 PA
