Job Title: Engineering Services Specialist

Location: Unilever Factory

Job Purpose:

The main purpose of this role is to provide engineering maintenance support within the Mix, Utilities and Auto Palletiser department in the correction, prevention and elimination of technical abnormalities (including safety, quality, environmental and efficiency losses).

Responsibilities:

WCM:

  • Training and development of technical and engineering colleagues in process activities and trouble shooting.
  • Developing and implementing AM and PM schedule standards.
  • Using WCM tools and techniques to analyze and optimize process performance.
  • Developing OPLs and SOPs to ensure best practice.

Efficiency:

  • Ability to perform and understand principles of industrial refrigeration, boilers, steam distribution, mix processing and engineering techniques.
  • Proactively responding to process losses and inefficiencies:
    • Preventing breakdowns.
    • Analyzing breakdowns.
    • Maintaining original condition.
    • Optimizing settings and adjustments.
    • Performance Mapping.
    • Setting standards for the use of condition-based techniques and monitoring results.
    • Developing and implementing improvement ideas.
    • Deducing faults and trending possible faults that can be corrected to prevent loss of processing.
    • Supporting identification of critical spares.

Safety:

  • Proactive in process and people safety of self and others.
  • Adherence to Site and Legislative safety standards (Codes of practice).
  • Involvement in safety and risk assessments as appropriate.

Policies and Standards:

  • To help ensure site compliance with all Quality, Environmental Standards, Site Rules and Regulations, Code of Business Principles and Computer Usage including email and internet and Procedures.
  • Delivering the site factory services at 100% service levels, remaining with operational standards at all times.

Cost:

  • Working closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure budgets and priorities remain a focus and deliver R&M target.

General:

  • Ensuring all plant procedures, COSHH assessments and TBRAs are controlled and up to date and stored in an organized manner.
  • Ensuring all housekeeping in Plants are completed making an organized, clean and tidy working environment.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization and order within the plant as well as carrying out, maintenance, servicing, calibration and repair of equipment/instrumentation.
  • Recording and reviewing all plant issues that occur.
  • Maintaining regular contact with the Engineering Management throughout the shift and be fully aware of the site priorities to maintain the plant safely.

  • Regular review with Management including:
  • Safety reviews.
  • Performance Reviews.
  • Breakdowns reviews.
  • Work progress Reviews.

Additional Information:

You should be flexible in order to fulfill training needs and shift cover.

Hours of work are 12 hour day/night shift, nominally 7:00 - 19:00/19:00 - 07:00, 2days, 2 nights 4 off with rostered holidays.
