Job Title: Clinical Health Psychologist

This is a consultant level post that requires extensive clinical experience in pain management, as well as broader physical health and rehabilitation psychology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop highly specialised clinical health psychology pathways for patients living with persistent pain based on NICE guidelines and Core Standards in pain management.
  • Provide teaching, training, supervision and support for MDT colleagues in order to support the delivery of psychologically informed care.
  • Undertake extended roles and responsibilities within the Clinical Health Psychology Services and work flexibly across the services as required and directed by the Head of the Clinical Health Psychology Services.
Person Specification:
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology accredited by the HCPC (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 as accredited by the BPS).
  • Post-qualification training in one or more additional specialised areas of clinical practice.
  • Strong commitment to CPD as evidenced by post qualification training.
Desirable:
  • Qualification in supervision.
  • History of leadership training and experience.
  • Well-developed highly specialised knowledge of the theory and practice of psychological models and therapies/interventions in clinical psychology and health psychology.
