About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Clinical Support Specialist to join our Oncology team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our out-patient clinics and chemotherapy treatment rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the smooth running of out-patient clinics, ensuring a seamless patient experience.
  • Provide emotional support and communication to patients, their families, and healthcare staff.
  • Support nursing staff in the cancer treatment rooms, maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Accurately document and communicate patient information, utilizing trust and unit-specific IT systems.
  • Develop and maintain clinical skills, including phlebotomy and 12-lead ECG.
  • Assist with nurse-led PICC insertions and other clinical procedures.
  • Perform clerical and organizational tasks, ensuring efficient workflow and patient flow.
  • Provide patient care, including serving drinks and lunches.
Requirements
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills, with a desire to work in oncology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Desirable: experience in a healthcare setting, phlebotomy, and ECG training.
