About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our Oncology Unit as a Clinical Support Worker. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and close-knit team, providing treatment and support to patients with cancer across North Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the smooth running of oncology out-patient clinics
  • Provide communication and emotional support to patients
  • Support nursing staff in the cancer treatment rooms
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy working environment
  • Accurately document and communicate patient information
  • Utilize trust and unit-specific IT systems
  • Develop clinical skills, including phlebotomy and 12-lead ECG
  • Assist with nurse-led PICC insertions
  • Perform clerical and organizational tasks
  • Provide patient care, including serving drinks and lunches
Requirements
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Desire to work in oncology
