Job Overview

As a key member of the Engineering Function at Boeing Defence UK (BDUK), the Product Review Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the Chinook program. This position is integral to ensuring the quality and safety of our aerospace products, contributing to various contracts that serve our UK Defence clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Boeing's engineering principles to investigate technical, operational, and quality challenges, developing both interim and final solutions.
  • Employ knowledge of engineering standards to address product and process issues that arise during production.
  • Conduct thorough analyses, including failure and root cause assessments, to identify solutions and provide written documentation for design non-conformances.
  • Draft customer communications to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Initiate and implement enhancements to products and processes.
  • Engage in Material Review Boards and collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), offering technical insights during design and in-service evaluations.
  • Act as a representative for the engineering team in post-production settings.
  • Ensure compliance with Boeing's standards and processes among suppliers and build partners.
  • Participate in on-site repair teams and contribute to accident investigations as needed.
  • Assess damage repairs or structural modifications to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Design temporary structural repairs and perform static strength evaluations.
  • Develop non-destructive testing procedures and standards.
  • Provide innovative technical solutions to complex problems, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Work autonomously, developing approaches to solutions with general oversight.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in engineering from an accredited institution.

Preferred Skills:

  • Chartership with a recognized engineering council or a commitment to pursue registration.
  • Familiarity with Military Airworthiness Authority (MAA) Regulatory Articles.
  • Experience in helicopter and aircraft fleet maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis and improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and factory mechanics.
  • Experience in assembly integration and testing of aerospace components.
  • Background in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
