Job Description

Shaw Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Manager to join our Clinical Governance Team. This role is a hybrid position, requiring the ability to work on-site 3 or 4 days per week at our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and complete rigorous audits/inspections and follow-ups across Shaw healthcare settings registered with national regulators.
  • Liaise with Service Managers, operational management teams, and Shaw head office colleagues to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Relay the outcomes of compliance audits, set requirements and timescales for completion with Service Managers and operational management teams, and produce a report.
  • Report to the Director of Compliance and Governance and work closely with Compliance & Governance colleagues, operational management, and teams to ensure continuous quality improvement and business development.
  • Maintain oversight and management of a caseload of regulated services, ensuring required audits are completed, monitoring levels of risk, assessing incoming concerns, and ensuring all records are kept up to date.
  • Carry out audits in line with an agreed program, observing and reporting on the well-being of individuals using the service, identifying and monitoring areas of non-compliance, raising and responding to safeguarding concerns.
  • Take responsibility for following and progressing actions in relation to services of concern and liaise with other key stakeholders.
  • Work with managers to contribute to the setting and achieving of organisational performance objectives, including both quantitative and qualitative measures.
  • Prepare correspondence/reports, etc. in relation to specific issues raised about services.
General Management
  • Plan, organise, liaise, and conduct compliance audits in all Shaw healthcare settings registered with CQC/CIW/Care Inspectorate & Healthcare Improvement Scotland.
  • Provide relevant professional advice and analysis within corporate compliance & governance expectations.
  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.
  • Maintain registration with NMC (when applicable).
  • Keep up to date with changes in legislation, guidance, and policies, procedures, and best practice development.
Essential Criteria
  • Excellent analytical, clinical, auditing, and presentation skills.
  • Good working and research-based knowledge and understanding of the regulatory framework and its significant influence on all registered settings.
  • Good experience in staff and audit management within health and social care.
  • Proven experience and qualifications within health and social care, including management certification.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
  • To collect evidence in an objective and measured manner to make informed decisions and judgments about the quality of care and service provision.
  • Needs to have a positive, honest, open, and constructive approach when inspecting/auditing, delivering feedback, and completing reports.
  • Car driver and current license.
