Creative Arts Instructor

Position Overview
This is a rewarding part-time position for a seasoned professional in the arts sector to contribute significantly to the evolution and implementation of the Fine Art curriculum at Chelsea College of Arts.
As a Senior Fine Art Educator, your responsibilities will encompass ongoing research, teaching, curriculum innovation, and associated academic duties within the BA Fine Art program. This program emphasizes a hands-on, event-driven curriculum where students engage in experiential learning, and critical writing is recognized as a vital artistic expression that complements practical endeavors.
Leveraging your extensive knowledge and industry experience, you will engage in teaching and scholarly activities, including studio guidance, dissertation mentorship, and evaluation.
Collaboration with a diverse team of staff will be essential as you develop industry-relevant teaching methodologies and enhance the course framework to equip students for careers in the global cultural landscape. You will also play a role in shaping a curriculum that questions the traditional narratives of contemporary Fine Art, aiming to foster diversity and inclusivity.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate qualification and considerable professional experience within the international art community.
Your background should include prior teaching and assessment experience in a Higher Education setting, enabling you to utilize your expertise and connections to prepare students for ambitious careers in the cultural sectors.
A proven history of innovative practices in areas such as, but not limited to, new media, practice-based art writing, exhibition curation, and event management is essential.
Additionally, a strong commitment to working with emerging artists and demonstrated experience in creating knowledge-sharing initiatives will be highly valued.
