Job Title: Principal Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Clinical Psychologist to join our Parenting and Child Team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide expert psychological assessments and interventions for children and families.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of children and families to identify areas of need and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Provide expert witness reports to the family courts, making recommendations for placement, contact, and treatment.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals to develop and implement trauma-focused interventions for children and families.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members to ensure high-quality care and professional development.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure best practice in child and family mental health services.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and registration with the HCPC.
  • Substantial assessed experience of working as a qualified clinician at a highly specialist level.
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, including children and families with complex trauma and attachment difficulties.
  • Knowledge of legislation in relation to children and young people and child protection.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems.
