Role Purpose
The primary objective of this role is to deliver a reliable and proficient tank construction service that aligns with project and company standards, ensuring safety and quality throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely sling materials for transportation within and around the tank area.
  • Execute the safe lifting of materials over the tank shell to the roof.
  • Oversee the erection, utilization, and dismantling of tank staging.
  • Manage the safe operation of tank jacks.
  • Utilize rigging equipment, including blocks, shackles, and winches, effectively.
  • Handle loading and unloading of transport vehicles.
  • Implement rigging techniques for the handling of various tank components.
  • Ensure the safe assembly of tank floors, shells, and roofs.
  • Adjust tank shells to meet specified verticality and roundness tolerances.
  • Employ erection aids such as shims and wedges as necessary.
  • Recognize and utilize cranes and lifting equipment appropriately.
  • Maintain and inspect personal tools and equipment regularly.
  • Comply with statutory lifting regulations.
  • Prepare sites for rigging and lifting operations, conducting pre-use inspections.
  • Develop basic lifting plans in accordance with approved methods.
  • Execute the safe removal of tank components.
  • Work in compliance with 'permit to work' systems in hazardous areas.
  • Perform tasks at heights and in confined spaces safely.
  • Prioritize safety and halt any unsafe operations.

Qualifications
Essential Skills:
  • Documented evidence of competency in the role.
  • Certification as a Banksman and Slinger.
  • CCNSG safety passport.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in rigging for tanks or equivalent heavy engineering projects.
