About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Brickwork Apprentice at the Canal & River Trust. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our waterway infrastructure, ensuring the safe and efficient passage of boats and people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance and repair works on our waterway infrastructure, including brickwork, under the guidance of our experienced construction teams.
  • Contribute to the delivery of our annual winter stoppage programme, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve our goals.
  • Learn and develop skills across a range of construction disciplines, including bricklaying, carpentry, and engineering.
  • Work in a productive and efficient manner, delivering high-quality work to the agreed programme and standards.
  • Ensure that inclusion and diversity are integrated into all aspects of our work, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
  • Display the Trust's values and behaviours at all times, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

About the Apprenticeship

As a Trust apprentice, you will complete a Bricklaying Apprenticeship, combining on-the-job training with regular attendance at our chosen training provider. You will work with supportive colleagues to achieve your goals, and have opportunities to build your portfolio and work on projects across our network.
