About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Construction Apprentice to join our team at the Canal & River Trust. As a Construction Apprentice, you will play a vital role in maintaining and restoring our waterways, working closely with our construction teams to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance and repair works across our network, including brickwork, under the guidance of our experienced construction teams.
- Learn and develop skills across all areas of construction, with opportunities for placements and training to become multi-skilled.
- Work in a productive and efficient manner, delivering work to the correct standard and agreed programme.
- Ensure inclusion and diversity are integrated into all aspects of Trust life, promoting inclusion and challenging behaviour that is counter to our objectives.
- Display the Trust values and behaviours at all times.
About the Apprenticeship
As a Trust apprentice, you will complete a Bricklaying Apprenticeship, with regular attendance at our chosen training provider. You may be expected to stay away from home to attend training, with all college-related travel costs paid for by the Trust.
What We Offer
We are committed to supporting our apprentices throughout their training, with a focus on progression opportunities and ongoing employment. We value our apprentices' contributions to the Trust and aim to offer employment opportunities once the apprenticeship is completed.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who live and breathe our values: Caring, Open, Local, Inclusive, and Excellence. You should have a willingness to learn, enthusiasm, and dedication, with a strong work ethic and ability to work in a team.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideally, you should have grade A-C or grade 9-4 in Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) already achieved or on target to achieve. An interest or connection to the waterways network or heritage assets, as well as any general construction experience, would be beneficial.
