Hours: Full Time 37 hours per week
We are currently looking for 1 Modern Apprentice – Roadworkers to join our Highways and Drainage Services team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for;
Achieving an appropriate Civil Engineering related Qualification through hands on work experience within the Authority’s Highways and Drainage Services section and by attending a nominated technical college course on a one-day per week basis.
The main duties of the post;
Develop academic and practical skills by regularly attending approved technical training establishments as stipulated in the apprenticeship contract, and undertaking other skills training.Completing and understanding the skilled areas of work under supervision as part of training and development.Planting, turfing, soiling and seeding.Operation of powered plant and equipment once qualified.General labouring work in relation to highway maintenance and construction.Working in trenches and other open excavations including drainage and ducting work.Ideally you will have;
