About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Brickwork Apprentice at the Canal & River Trust. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our waterway infrastructure, including brickwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance and repair works under guidance from our construction teams, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to safety protocols.
- Contribute to the delivery of the annual winter stoppage programme, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve project goals.
- Learn and develop skills across various areas of construction, including bricklaying, patching, and repairs, with opportunities for internal and external placements.
- Participate in sensitive heritage and environmental solutions, gaining exposure to conservation and heritage knowledge.
- Deliver work efficiently and effectively, meeting agreed programme deadlines and standards.
- Embed inclusion and diversity principles into all aspects of Trust life, promoting a culture of respect and equality.
- Display the Trust's values and behaviours at all times, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
About the Apprenticeship
As a Trust apprentice, you will complete a Bricklaying Apprenticeship, combining on-the-job training with regular attendance at our chosen training provider. You may be required to stay away from home for training, with all related travel costs covered by the Trust.

Requirements
- Grade A-C or grade 9-4 in Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) already achieved or on target to achieve.
