We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic midwife to join our diabetes team at The Diabetes Times. As a Diabetes Specialist Midwife, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of diabetes services and providing expert clinical and professional specialist advice on the care of women with diabetes.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide effective leadership to the diabetes/pregnancy team and act as the lead midwife on diabetes in maternity services.
- Work collaboratively with other diabetes team members and contribute to the education and professional development of staff in both acute and primary care settings.
- Be actively involved in client/family education, supporting midwives and GPs to provide ongoing antenatal care and planning care for clients.
- Audit, monitor, and evaluate the services provided.
- Enthusiasm for all aspects of midwifery care, including antenatal care, fetal monitoring, intrapartum care, and postnatal care.
- Ability to work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver training, support students, new midwives, doctors, and engage in audit and quality improvement.
- Experience in developing specialist programs of evidence-based care for women with diabetes.
