Role Responsibilities

We seek a Technical Team Leader to guide the team while modernizing the application framework for a significant product, PatentSight+. You will oversee a small, highly skilled agile team, taking charge of the mission and shaping your development methodologies.

Your engineering team will be based in the UK, collaborating closely with the existing application team and engaging with a diverse array of stakeholders across multiple countries.

Key Duties

  • Directing the team, segmenting tasks, and implementing the technical strategy.
  • Collaborating with the Product Manager to lead design efforts, decompose, and execute new features.
  • Maximizing the team's capabilities, enhancing team members' skills, and ensuring cohesive team dynamics.
  • Conducting assessments and recommending improvements to the current architecture, then guiding the implementation to fruition.
  • Developing AWS infrastructure, including NodeJS/Python Lambda functions.
  • Executing Blue/Green deployment strategies for database updates.
  • Leading and engaging in development practices, coding standards, and peer reviews.
  • Operating within various development frameworks (Agile, Kanban, etc.) while collaborating with essential stakeholders.
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical challenges.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to lead a team of developers, fostering inspiration and building strong relationships. Provide both technical and professional mentorship to the team.
  • Extensive experience with modern React frameworks; familiarity with NextJS or other server-side rendering technologies is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated expertise in platform technologies, particularly AWS Serverless, App Sync, Cloud Formation, and microservices.
  • Significant software engineering experience, particularly in large-scale systems, refactoring, and managing technical debt.
  • Exposure to diverse programming environments, including C#, SQL, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Experience collaborating with key stakeholders in varied development methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
  • Understanding of continuous software delivery practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills suitable for a broad audience.
