We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Podiatrist to join our team at National University Health System. As a Clinical Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients with a diverse range of medical and podiatric conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Autonomous Assessment and Management: Independently assess, diagnose, and manage patients with complex medical and podiatric conditions, utilizing appropriate diagnostic techniques, skills, and tools.
- Acute MSK and High-Risk Foot Presentations: Recognize and manage acute musculoskeletal and high-risk foot presentations, making appropriate referrals when necessary.
- Diagnostic Testing and Interpretation: Recommend and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work and X-rays, and take appropriate action based on the results.
- Practice within Scope of Competence: Practice within your area of professional and clinical competence, seeking support from supervisors or other healthcare professionals when needed.
- Clinical Governance and Compliance: Comply with department policies on clinical governance, health and safety, and infection control.
- Service Management: Manage or assist in the management of a clinical area, ensuring optimal utilization of clinical capacity.
- Collaboration and Case Conferences: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and participate in case conferences to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Clinical Research and Quality Improvement: Participate in clinical research and propose or participate in service improvements or quality improvement projects.
- Education and Training: Contribute to or lead departmental in-service training programs and hospital educational talks, and engage in continued professional development to stay up-to-date on podiatry knowledge and skills.
- Supervision and Leadership: Supervise junior colleagues and line manage staff in specified workgroups.
- A recognized Degree in Podiatry
- Post-graduate degree in a relevant area preferred
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
- Positive and collaborative attitude
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Supervisory experience preferred
