Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing a thorough land referencing methodology to ensure diligent inquiry prior to public consultation and application submission
  • Managing Requests for Information (RFIs) and Land Interest Questionnaires (LIQs)
  • Interpreting complex Land Registry titles
  • Overseeing Land Data management
  • Creating statutory compliant Books of Reference and Compulsory Purchase Order Schedules
  • Producing Land Plans, Order Plans, Deposited Plans, and Rights of Way Plans
  • Facilitating Land Access for surveys
  • Issuing statutory acquisition notices such as Notices to Treat, Notices of Entry, Notices of Intention, and General Vesting Declarations
  • Documenting notice returns
  • Preparing, placing, and monitoring site notices using mobile technology
  • Representing land referencing expertise at hearings or Public Inquiries
  • Designing bespoke plans for Land & Works Agreements
  • Providing Consultation & Landowner Engagement services
  • Assisting throughout the Optioneering process

Required Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • A degree in a relevant field related to Land – typically Geography; however, degrees in geospatial science, estate or property management, and planning will also be considered
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to adhere to clear instructions within tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication skills – both verbal (in-person, over the phone, and in meetings) and written (letters and emails)
  • Understanding the significance of managing confidential information
  • Capability to prioritize workloads efficiently
  • Accurate record-keeping abilities
  • Teamwork skills and the ability to delegate tasks effectively
  • A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and systems, coupled with a strong work ethic
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly in Microsoft applications including MS Word and Excel

Desirable Attributes:

  • Familiarity with Land Registry title plans and registers
  • Knowledge of Compulsory Purchase legislation
  • Experience with GIS systems
  • Possession of a full driving license
