Position Overview

SRM Recruitment is in search of a finance professional with an audit background, ideally ACA qualified, to join a reputable manufacturing organization in a managerial capacity. This role is pivotal in overseeing financial statutory accounting and regulatory reporting processes, including tax and VAT compliance, as well as managing cash flow and the administration of the NetSuite ERP system.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Corporate Accounting team to ensure adherence to global accounting policies and will work alongside the Global Controllership team to maintain robust SOX controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the accuracy and control of financial accounting activities during monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring completeness of journal entries and uploads to the consolidation system.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all external statutory and regulatory reporting processes, including Corporation Tax and VAT, while maintaining compliance with local accounting standards.
  • Work in partnership with U.S.-based Corporate Accounting teams to ensure compliance with both UK GAAP and US GAAP, as well as internal accounting policies.
  • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead cash flow forecasting efforts and collaborate with the Group treasury function to maintain appropriate liquidity levels.
  • Administer the UK ERP system (NetSuite) and ensure its effective operation.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account analyses, and reports on a monthly and quarterly basis to ensure key SOX controls are in place and accruals are sufficient.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance the timeliness and accuracy of financial information, focusing on the appropriateness of processes.
  • Provide high-level analysis and review of monthly management accounts to support strategic discussions with senior finance leadership.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned and support the UK FP&A team in understanding financial performance and variances.
  • Collaborate with various teams and departments to ensure the integrity of accounting controls, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant with a recognized UK accounting qualification, preferably with an audit background.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite and HFM systems.
  • Experience in reporting under both UK and US GAAP.
  • Proven experience in completing UK VAT and Corporation tax returns while collaborating with external advisors.
  • Background in a Regional Accounting team within an international or public company setting.
  • Self-motivated and independent thinker with a track record of process improvement.
  • Experience in the QSR industry or franchisee environment is preferred.
  • Proficient in PC skills and financial applications, including Excel, Word, Hyperion, and NetSuite.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment, adapting to new situations as they arise.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and establish relationships quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
