Main Responsibilities
  • Establish and manage a new procurement function within the organisation, ensuring compliance with UK procurement directives and legislation.
  • Lead on procurement projects, including strategic procurement and planning, to achieve cost savings and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and implement sustainable procurement practices, ensuring alignment with the NHS Net Zero plan.
  • Provide expert advice on procurement strategies, including alternatives and value for money.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective contract management and performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine precise requirements and specifications for procurement projects.

Requirements
  • Significant experience of working within procurement and contract management.
  • Leading on procurement projects, including strategic procurement and planning experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of UK procurement directives and legislation.
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Experience of using e-tendering systems.
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent and/or demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • Relevant Contract and Procurement management training, IACCM and/or Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply qualifications.
