Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented individual to spearhead innovation in the realm of statistics and data science, contributing to the evolution of our Biostatistics department. This role is pivotal in enhancing how we leverage data and quantitative analysis to inform research and development decisions.

About Us:

Our Biostatistics team is the largest collective of statisticians, programmers, and data scientists within our organization, operating across various global regions. Our mission is to embed statistical reasoning into R&D decision-making processes, ensuring that predictive models and meticulously designed experiments yield reliable evidence for informed choices, thereby streamlining the R&D workflow and boosting success rates.

Role Highlights:

As part of our Statistics & Data Science Innovation Hub, you will collaborate with a diverse group of professionals to create innovative quantitative methodologies and tools. This collaborative environment fosters the development of advanced statistical models that address complex data challenges in research and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and execute sophisticated models for analyzing treatment effects and disease progression using advanced statistical methods and machine learning techniques.
  2. Integrate various data types, including biomarkers and clinical data, to construct comprehensive models.
  3. Work closely with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects across multiple therapeutic areas.
  4. Engage with stakeholders to align model development with organizational needs.
  5. Lead collaborative efforts across different departments.
  6. Publish research findings in reputable scientific journals and present at industry conferences.

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  1. A PhD in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related quantitative field.
  2. Proven track record of innovation in statistical modeling and machine learning.
  3. Experience publishing in scientific journals and presenting research findings.
  4. Ability to manage and analyze diverse data sources for model development.
  5. Proficiency in R and/or Python for developing and deploying statistical models.
  6. Experience collaborating with stakeholders at various levels of seniority.

Preferred Skills:

While not mandatory, the following skills are advantageous:

  1. Experience in pharmaceutical R&D or related healthcare sectors.
  2. Familiarity with 'omics data such as genomics or proteomics.
  3. Experience in high-performance computing environments.
  4. Strong communication skills for conveying complex ideas to diverse audiences.
