About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our clinical team at Optical Express. As a key member of our surgery team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinics and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-operative Testing: Conduct thorough pre-operative tests and assessments to ensure patients are prepared for their procedures.
  • Patient Discharging: Provide clear instructions and guidance to patients post-procedure, updating medical records and making follow-up appointments as necessary.
  • Laser Technician: Prepare and calibrate lasers, understand data, and ensure safe operation.
  • Co-ordination: Manage patient flow, minimize waiting times, and handle queries efficiently.
  • Assisting Surgeons: Act as a scrub assistant, take notes, and instill eye drops as required.
  • Theatre Support: Assist the surgical team and patients during surgery, and decontaminate instruments.
  • End of Day Activities: Update patient files, file documents, compile reports, and maintain a clean and organized department.
  • Reporting Incidents: Identify and report untoward incidents, contributing to patient safety and quality management.

  • Technical Knowledge: Ability to absorb and convey highly technical information.
