Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons during consent appointments and treatments, acting as a scrub assistant in the laser vision correction department and undertaking the role of 'HCA' in the ophthalmic theatre.
  • Pre-operative testing, instructing patients on eye care, updating medical records, and making follow-up appointments.
  • Prepare and calibrate lasers, understand data, load and transfer data, and ensure safe running of the lasers.
  • Control patient flow, manage queries, and ensure minimum waiting times for patients.
  • Update patient files, file documents, compile reports for head office, and maintain a clean and organized department.
  • Report untoward incidents, take an active role in patient safety, and contribute to quality and risk management.
