We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Fellow to join our Paediatric Surgery team at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust.
About the RoleThe Clinical Fellow will work closely with our experienced team of surgeons and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to children with complex surgical needs. The role will involve participating in a 1 in 8 on-call rota, dealing with emergency admissions, and covering inpatients out of hours.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and treat common paediatric surgical conditions
- Assess and manage acutely unwell children
- Establish and maintain working relations with patients, carers, and multi-disciplinary colleagues
- Awareness of own limitations and ability to consult senior colleagues appropriately
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in teams and also on own initiative, without Consultant supervision in some instances
- Primary medical qualification - MBBS or equivalent
- Full GMC registration with Licence to Practice or IELTS Certificate with an overall score of 7.5 with a minimum score of '7' in each domain or Occupational English Test (medicine version) with a minimum score of 'B' in each domain.
- MRCS or equivalent
- Child protection training
- Completion of APLS or equivalent resuscitation course
We offer a competitive salary of £42,321 to £57,570 a year pro rata, per annum, and a range of benefits including flexible working, help with childcare and travel, excellent training and development opportunities, and assistance with finding somewhere to live.
