Operations Director, Arts & Entertainment

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to oversee the operational planning and execution of our Arts & Entertainment portfolio, with a primary focus on Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead operational planning for Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, ensuring a safe event that adheres to all licensing requirements.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies for events, aligning with senior management directives.
  • Provide direct leadership to the operations team, including the Safety Operations Manager and Operations Coordinator.
  • Manage event operations teams, budgets, and supplier relationships.
  • Coordinate with operational suppliers, oversee security and stewarding contracts, and collaborate with the Event Director on emergency planning and documentation.
  • Design event layouts, manage the Event Control Centre, and monitor staffing budgets.
  • Conduct tabletop exercises, liaise with stakeholders, and handle post-event reconciliation.
  • Contribute to new event research and provide support for other Arts & Entertainment projects.
Requirements

This role demands a highly organized and adaptable individual with proven experience in managing large-scale outdoor events and contractors. A strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations and meticulous budget management skills are essential.

  • Exceptional leadership, persuasion, and crisis management abilities.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, remain calm under pressure, and motivate teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with knowledge of CAD and Visio software.

Qualifications & Training

  • In-depth knowledge of UK and EU Health and Safety legislation is essential.
