About the Role

Pulse Healthcare is a leading healthcare recruitment agency, connecting talented professionals with rewarding career opportunities. We are currently seeking a skilled Surgical Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to join our esteemed client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide rapid response, senior-level occupational therapy assessments and treatment for complex patients within A&E, ACU, acute wards, and those referred from the community.
  • Offer supervision and appraisals to Band 5 Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy students on placement (as required).
  • Contribute to ongoing service development within the Integrated Immediate Therapy (IIT) and Therapy Services.
  • Deputise for Band 7 Occupational Therapists in their absence, taking responsibility for operationally managing allocated parts of the service.
  • Perform high-level clinical decision-making within agreed response times to support A&E four-hour targets.
  • Analyse and reason the risk assessment required for the physical moving and handling of complex, dependent patients to further their rehabilitation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Proven experience working as an Occupational Therapist within surgical or acute settings.
  • Sound knowledge of surgical conditions, treatment modalities, and therapeutic approaches.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
