Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Job Overview

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient operation of mechanical and structural systems within various facilities. This role involves diagnosing issues, executing repairs, performing routine maintenance, and installing necessary equipment on-site. Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections, preventative maintenance, corrective actions, repairs, adjustments, testing, and troubleshooting of assigned mechanical systems in line with industry codes, schematics, operational manuals, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Monitor mechanical systems and components during operation to identify failures or determine the causes of malfunctions.
  • Dismantle equipment and replace defective components. Evaluate used parts and systems for compliance with calibration, dimensional specifications, and manufacturer standards.
  • Test and calibrate systems and machinery to confirm optimal operation using diagnostic tools or precision measuring devices.
  • Plan work tasks, identify methods, techniques, and materials necessary to effectively complete assignments.
  • Adhere to all relevant codes, regulations, and company policies concerning facility operations and workplace safety.
  • Exhibit integrity and respect towards colleagues, clients, and the work environment.
  • Demonstrate initiative by taking appropriate corrective measures when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Extensive experience in mechanical facility maintenance services, including troubleshooting, maintenance, installation, and testing.
  • Proven experience in both reactive and planned preventative maintenance within building services.
  • Background in facilities management or building services in commercial settings.
  • Experience working under stringent Health & Safety protocols, including risk assessments and method statements.
  • Training and proficiency in managing high-risk mechanical tasks.
  • Capability to analyze situations, evaluate options, and develop plans that meet operational goals and expectations.
