Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Job Overview

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient operation of mechanical and building systems across various client sites. Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections, preventative maintenance, corrective actions, repairs, adjustments, testing, and troubleshooting of assigned mechanical systems in line with plumbing codes, operational manuals, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Monitor mechanical systems and components to identify failures or determine the root causes of malfunctions.
  • Dismantle equipment and replace defective parts. Assess used components for compliance with calibration, dimensional standards, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Test and calibrate systems and machinery to ensure optimal performance using precision measuring instruments and testing equipment.
  • Plan work assignments, selecting appropriate methods, techniques, and materials to achieve effective outcomes.
  • Adhere to all relevant codes, regulations, and company policies regarding building operations and workplace safety.
  • Exhibit integrity and respect towards colleagues, clients, and work responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate initiative by implementing corrective measures when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Extensive experience in mechanical building services maintenance, including troubleshooting, upkeep, installation, and inspection/testing.
  • Proficient in delivering reactive and planned preventative maintenance services.
  • Experience in facilities management or building services within commercial environments.
  • Knowledge of strict Health & Safety protocols, including risk assessments and method statements.
  • Training and competence in managing high-risk mechanical tasks.
  • Adept at analyzing situations, evaluating options, and developing plans that align with objectives and expectations.
