Our unique market approach and deep understanding of application challenges enable us to support our clients in optimizing the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of their systems from design through to production.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be integral to a team focused on the upkeep, repair, and enhancement of production machinery and tools utilized in various processes, including furnaces, vacuum systems, RF testing apparatus (including high voltage up to 80KV), welding machines, and laboratory instruments.
The responsibilities of the Maintenance Equipment Specialist include:
- Adhering to established health and safety protocols.
- Supporting teams in the assembly and calibration of equipment.
- Educating and mentoring apprentices.
- Assessing the need for preventive maintenance and executing it.
- Conducting regular scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
- Responding promptly to breakdown maintenance requests.
- Assisting in the development of spare parts inventory and sourcing replacement components.
- Manufacturing mechanical components for equipment repairs.
- Recommending and implementing equipment enhancements.
- Providing technical support related to equipment to production engineers.
- Contributing to the formulation of risk assessments and COSHH evaluations.
- Identifying equipment requiring replacement and incorporating it into capital expenditure plans.
- Regularly updating management on progress and challenges.
As a Maintenance Equipment Specialist, you should be proactive, adaptable, and eager to embrace new challenges. The ideal candidate will possess:
• HNC in an engineering discipline.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Proficiency in interpreting detailed technical drawings and wiring schematics.
• Expertise in electrical and electronic troubleshooting.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
• Mechanical system troubleshooting experience.
• Background in a maintenance-focused environment.
• Basic knowledge of pipefitting.
• Pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with single and three-phase electrical systems.
• Experience with high voltage AC/DC and pulsed systems.
• Understanding of RF systems.
• Knowledge or training in PLC troubleshooting or programming (Mitsubishi).
