Job Title: Maintenance Equipment Specialist (Electrical/RF)

Salary: £40,000

Location: Essex

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be an integral part of a team dedicated to the upkeep, repair, and enhancement of production machinery and tools utilized in various processes, including furnaces, vacuum systems, RF testing apparatus (including high voltage up to 80KV), welding machines, and laboratory instruments.

The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:

  1. Adhering to established health and safety protocols at all times.
  2. Supporting teams in the assembly and calibration of equipment.
  3. Educating and mentoring apprentices.
  4. Assessing the need for preventive maintenance and executing it accordingly.
  5. Conducting regular scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
  6. Responding promptly to breakdown maintenance requests.
  7. Assisting in the development of spare parts inventory and sourcing replacement components for machinery.
  8. Manufacturing mechanical components for equipment repairs.
  9. Proposing and implementing equipment enhancements.
  10. Providing technical support related to equipment to production engineers.
  11. Contributing to the formulation of risk assessments and COSHH evaluations.
  12. Identifying equipment requiring replacement and incorporating it into capital expenditure plans.
  13. Regularly updating management on progress and developments.

As a Maintenance Equipment Specialist, you should be proactive, adaptable, and eager to embrace new challenges and opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

HNC in an engineering discipline.

Strong commitment to health, safety, and cleanliness standards.

Ability to interpret detailed technical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Proficiency in electrical and electronic troubleshooting.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

Experience in diagnosing mechanical systems.

Prior experience in a maintenance-focused role.

Basic knowledge of pipefitting.

Expertise in pneumatic troubleshooting.

Familiarity with single and three-phase electrical systems.

Experience with high voltage AC/DC and pulsed systems.

Understanding of RF technologies.

Knowledge or training in PLC troubleshooting or programming (Mitsubishi).
