About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our team at Connex Education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational development of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring a tailored approach to meet the needs of students with diverse learning requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, fostering a sense of community and respect among students, teachers, and staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to identify and address the needs of students with SEN, ensuring their inclusion in all aspects of school life.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN, working closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure effective support.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent UK educational qualification.
  • Previous experience working with students with SEN, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom.
  • An understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines, with a willingness to maintain a DBS on the update service.
