About the Role

Cedar Recruitment Careers is seeking an experienced VAT Manager to join our client's exciting PE backed Real Estate group. This role is crucial in managing all VAT compliance and advisory matters across the group and will be working closely with the head of tax.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage VAT compliance for approximately 30 VAT registrations, including VAT groups, ensuring seamless integration with the company's financial systems.
  • Oversee VAT journals, reconciliations, and support the annual audit process, maintaining accurate records and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Address VAT complexities in land and property transactions, providing expert guidance to stakeholders and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies across VAT operations, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance the company's financial performance.
  • Support the Tax Team with risk management, governance, and HMRC inquiries, fostering a culture of compliance and excellence.

Requirements

  • Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) or equivalent qualification, demonstrating a strong foundation in tax law and regulations.
  • Extensive VAT experience, ideally within the Real Estate sector, with a proven track record of managing complex VAT compliance and advisory matters.
  • Strong technical knowledge of VAT and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, ensuring seamless integration with the company's financial systems.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex tax concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders.
