About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth management of the Transport Operation, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining cost-effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the usage of labor within the Transport team, adjusting plans to ensure tasks are covered effectively at optimal cost.
  • Ensure all items delivered meet customer specifications with minimal wastage.
  • Ensure the department and depot achieve company quality targets while operating within productivity targets.
  • Manage operational costs in accordance with the Operations Manager's directive.
  • Effectively manage absence to reduce cost impact to the business.
  • Manage vehicle damage to document and reduce where possible.
  • Manage stock loss in the department to identify and control.
  • Proactively communicate with internal and external customers, line manager, and customer service team regarding operational issues.
  • Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly plans to meet customer and company needs.
  • Implement effective change to facilitate customer requirements through customer, crew, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Ensure the depot fleet is operationally ready and compliant to the required standard to ensure continuity of supply to customers.
  • Prepare a detailed monthly report on the month's performance and KPIs.
  • Through effective management of Transport Team Leaders, analyze daily plans and working hours of crews to facilitate optimal performance.
  • Proactively manage team members' performance through regular one-to-one meetings.
  • Identify employee training requirements, including mandatory regulatory training.
  • Provide or arrange relevant training to all team members to ensure compliance and development.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents effectively, following the company process for accident investigations.

  • Experience in a management role within a fast-moving and changing work environment.
  • Proven experience in managing, developing, and inspiring teams.
  • Experience in fleet management and transport legal compliance.
  • Experience in managing conduct and capability issues.
