Job Summary:

A leading construction company is seeking an experienced Plant and Fleet Service Controller to join their team. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the company's fleet of construction machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Respond to site reports of plant breakdowns, ensuring prompt resolution to minimize machine downtime and maintain site productivity.
  2. Collaborate with site foremen and supervisors to schedule machine servicing, adhering to manufacturer guidelines.
  3. Procure replacement parts, service maintenance kits, and oils in a timely manner.
  4. Communicate with the hire desk to inform them of machines requiring extended repair periods.
  5. Consult with machine manufacturers to ensure warranty repairs are conducted in accordance with their guidelines.
  6. Ensure LOLER-compliant equipment undergoes regular 12-month safety inspections.
  7. Provide engineers with risk assessments and method statements, emphasizing their importance for all activities.
  8. Ensure engineers wear suitable PPE during all work tasks, as per risk assessments.
  9. Verify the fleet operates in compliance with legislation and regulations, maintaining a safe and efficient working condition.
  10. Ensure all personnel and suppliers adhere to company health and safety policies, procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
  11. Establish a planned preventative maintenance schedule, ensuring periodic tests, inspections, and maintenance are completed in accordance with LOLER and PUWER regulations.
Requirements:
  1. Demonstrable experience in managing and maintaining a fleet of construction machinery.
  2. Experience with service reporting systems for logging breakdowns and job sheets.
