We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In this crucial role, you will provide expert clinical care to patients across a range of specialties, including acute, physical, elderly care, general medicine, neurology, respiratory, and infectious diseases.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions to patients with complex needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide expert clinical guidance and support to junior staff members.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of occupational therapy services.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience at Band 6 level, including recent acute and physical occupational therapy practice.
  • Proven expertise in the care of elderly patients or those with general medical conditions.
  • Post-graduate experience in neurology, respiratory, and infectious diseases.
  • Previous NHS experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • A deep understanding of a wide range of occupational therapy approaches for managing complex problems.
  • The ability to work independently and take full responsibility for the clinical care of patients.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A critical and enquiring approach to your work, ensuring high-quality patient care.

  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in delivering formal presentations to multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience in supervision and appraisal, guiding and supporting colleagues.
  • Proven ability to lead a small team effectively.
  • Experience in teaching clinical skills to both qualified and non-qualified staff members.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills for efficient workload management.
  • The ability to recognize work-related stress and pressures in yourself and others, offering support and guidance.
