The Vale Learning Disability Day Service is dedicated to providing enriching daytime activities for adults with learning disabilities, including those with complex needs. Our approach is centered around the individual, focusing on outcomes and community engagement. We operate from various day center locations and community settings throughout the Vale, ensuring that our service users feel valued, gain independence, and reach their full potential.

About the Role

Compensation: Grade 6 £27,334 - £29,777 p.a.

Work Schedule: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Primary Work Locations: The role will primarily be based at our day centers, with potential for work across different community venues as needed.

About You

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities and building community connections. You should be a team player with a track record of collaborating with various organizations and evaluating service quality.
  • Knowledge of pertinent social care policies, best practices, and relevant legislation.
  • A person-centered mindset to design, implement, monitor, and assess day services for individuals with learning disabilities, particularly those with complex support needs. Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities are essential.
  • Proficiency in IT and digital tools, including Microsoft Office, alongside good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • A solid educational background and the willingness to engage in ongoing training to enhance your professional skills.
  • A proactive attitude with the capability to inspire change and foster staff engagement. A commitment to equality principles and an understanding of core social care values are vital.
  • The ability to undertake Positive Behavioural Management training and apply Positive Behavioural Support in daily operations.
