About the Role

The Behaviour Support Coordinator is a key position within our specialist education service for Autistic individuals at Beechwood College. This role is integral to our delivery of truly person-centred, evidence-based approaches for all of our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to person-centred plans, including Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans, across all areas of Beechwood College.
  • Work in a support worker role, with specific shifts devoted to clinical work, including reviewing PBS plans, conducting observations, and carrying out psychometric outcome measures.
  • Support therapeutic interventions and co-facilitate CBT group therapy, working alongside the whole clinical team, including our Clinical Psychologist.
  • Embodiment of the clinical psychology ethos, guiding and advising staff, working to structured support plans, and promoting positive change to students' lives.

Requirements

  • Interest in and commitment to the practice of clinical psychology.
  • Awareness of current policy agendas relating to person-centred practice, values-based practice, and the need for services to continually focus on reducing restrictive interventions.
  • Previous experience in working in services for people with Autism is an advantage, as is any experience in working with people with a learning disability, challenging behaviour, and positive behaviour support.
