About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Hate Crime Advocate to join our team at Victim Support. As a Hate Crime Advocate, you will play a vital role in directly supporting individuals who have been affected by Hate Crime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to service users, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and information to navigate the criminal justice system and cope with the impact of crime.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety planning, and needs assessments to develop tailored support plans for service users.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to Hate Crime.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community groups, organizations, and other stakeholders to promote Victim Support's services and advocate for the needs of Hate Crime victims.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, policies, and procedures related to Hate Crime, and apply this knowledge to inform your work with service users.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly those affected by Hate Crime.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with service users from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing a high-volume workload.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system and Hate Crime laws and policies.
